International
Pharmaceutical organization implements POMS MES for
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
International Pharmaceutical
Organization successfully implements POMS MES for pharmaceutical
manufacturing and eSpec for product and process specification.
An international
Pharmaceutical company has recently implemented an out-of-the-box
implementation of POMS MES at a site in Canada. The
international user team, working in tandem with a corresponding
Honeywell implementation team, managed to bring the
project to fruition in 6 months. POMS MES contains all
of the necessary functionality to support pharmaceutical
operations from initial receiving to final product shipping.
By specifying business requirements ahead of time, learning
how the system could meet the requirements and following
a rigorous project management methodology, the project
met an extremely aggressive schedule. Some custom genealogy
work and some custom developments for handheld devices
satisfied special requirements of the customer.
A French branch of the same company implemented eSpec
for its powerful specification capabilities for materials,
assets and processes. This powerful unifying method
of specification is a prerequisite for management to
get a common overview of all manufacturing operations.
eSpec is the main vehicle for specifying materials and
the prototype process. Then eSpec keeps track of changes
and the new specifications for moving the prototype
process to initial scale up and then to industrial scale
processes.
