CPG Company Implements POMS MES

A CPG Company successfully implemented POMS MES in 10 months, on budget and on schedule. The system takes full advantage of POMS Material Management, Weigh Dispense and Work in Process (WIP) Management. POMS Material Management provides support for material receiving, move order specification and fulfillment; and of quality control. Required dispensing can be done in any of thirteen ways, always in a compliant manner and with support for electronic signatures and electronic records. Support for WIP comes from the ability to check in, add and record corresponding output so a genealogy from ingredients to final product can be kept. Extra value to existing user systems was gained by using predominantly standard POMS product with an interface to third party ERP and user-written warehouse and inventory system, and a user written system to control combinations of raw materials. The interfaces developed passed back and forth information about Inventory, QC, Production Order, Goods Issue and Material Add transactions. The implementation actually covers two sites (separated by approximately one mile) on one POMS network. The users are able to work at separate sites but have their work coordinated by a single operational system.
