POMS Scheduling System Features
Interactive Scheduling Gannt Chart
 This intuitive display clearly shows the primary
production units (mixers, granulators, tabletizers)
... in the plant and the orders assigned to them.
Set-up time, operation execution time and clean-up
are all shown as duration bars on the display. Bar
colors indicate the state of the operation. Time
scales are easily changed to zoom in or out on the
scrollable schedule. The orders and units can be
filtered to focus in on particular area of the plant
or a segment of the schedule.The most powerful feature
of this display is the ability to interactively drag
and drop orders on the chart. The scheduling engine
controls where an order is dropped enforcing the
routings and capacity constraints. Dependant or linked
operations are moved together and execution order
is enforced.
Reschedule Orders
Orders on the schedule board can be re-scheduled
by a single click. The scheduling engine builds the
best possible schedule based on scheduling rules
defined by the user. Rules include forward or backward
scheduling, product preferences or user defined weights.
The user may chose to reschedule all orders or only
selected orders.
Constrain on Primary Capacity
The scheduling engine places orders based on the
capacity and loading of units and the scheduling
rules.. Operations duration can be fixed or dependant
of production rate of the unit.
Graphical Resource Displays
These displays show the use of consumable and non-consumable
resources and their impact on the schedule.
Customizable Plant Calendar
Plant calendars can be defined which define production
unit and resource availability. A calendar also has
beginning and end dates during which the calendar
becomes effective. For example, additional shifts
can be added to a calendar for summer months only.
As many calendars as required can be defined to create
a production year.
