
eSpec Course Descriptions
Using POMS eSpec 2.1
Through a combination of lecture, demonstration, and
hands-on exercises, this class teaches participants
how to create and maintain specifications using POMS
eSpec. Upon completion of this course, participants
will be able to:
- Understand the structure of the POMS eSpec application
and its model of operation
- Provide understanding of object orientation and
the underlying standards
- List the levels of specification development
- Create and edit Common Objects
- Navigate the eSpec application
- Create Specifications using eSpec
- Manage eSpec objects
- Create eSpec reports
Audience: This course is designed for customers who
are using eSpec to manage specifications throughout
their enterprise. Users typically include product developers,
product engineering, product specialists and site supervisors.
Prerequisites: Introductory-level
computer skills, general understanding of Windows NT/2000/XP
interface.

Through a combination of demonstration, hands-on exercises
and presentation, this class teaches participants
how to install, configure and maintain a POMS eSpec
network. Upon completion of this course, participants
will be able to:
Understand the structure of the POMS eSpec architecture
and its model of operation.
- Understand the structure of the POMS eSpec architecture
and its model of operation.
- Install POMS eSpec.
- Configure the components of a POMS eSpec network
including adding nodes, assigning modules to nodes,
and modifying
license information.
- Describe the purpose of system parameters and
how to change their default settings.
- Administer the POMS Security System including
working with users, groups and object class/action
pairs.
- Understand and perform basic diagnostics and
troubleshooting.
Audience: This course
is designed for individuals who are responsible for
installing, configuring and maintaining
a POMS eSpec network.
Prerequisites: Intermediate
computer skills, general understanding of Windows NT/2000/XP
interface and networking.
